Today’s edition: Frontcourt Tiers.

Today we take a look at the 17 frontcourters who played significant time in the position in the Fall 2025 season and are slated to do the same in Spring 2026.

All stats in this edition are from the Fall 2025 season and ranks are among frontcourters.

The Tiers

Alien

Goixerri is in a class of his own, and his otherworldly talent warrants the name of the tier. In Fall 2025, Goixerri finished 2nd in Total Catch Rate and 2nd in Total Kills. He was also 1st in Total Kills per match (5.06), including 1st in both Splitter Kills and Filo Kills by wide margins.

Over the last 2 seasons (Winter 2025 and Fall 2025), Goixerri ranks 1st in Total Catch Rate and in Total Kills. Alien behavior.

Side note: I think Goixerri and Wemby would be great friends…

Elite

This tier contains Frontcourters you can win a Championship with as your top option. Everyone here has been a key piece on a championship-winning team.

  • Douglas: 6th in Total Catch Rate (96.8%), 4th in Backhand Catch Rate (97.3%), 4th in Total Kills Per Match (3.36)

  • Inaki: 3rd in Total Catch Rate (97.3%), 5th lowest Out Of Play Rate (2.2%), 6th in Total Kills Per Match (3.13)

  • Zulaika: 9th in Total Catch Rate (95.6%), 5th in Two Wall Kills (30), T-4th in Aces (15), 1st in Costado Rate (32.5%)

  • Iturbide: 5th in Total Catch Rate (96.9%), 9th in Total Kills (57), 2nd in Total Kill Rate (51.8%)

    • While Iturbide was the #2 to Zulaika during the Chargers’ Fall 2024 championship run, he’s of a caliber that could warrant #1 Frontcourter status if positional availability were to change.

Don’t Be Surprised If They’re In Elite Tier Next Season

Frontcourters poised to make a jump. They’ve shown they have the tools. Now it’s about putting it together consistently.

  • Urrutia: 7th in Total Catch Rate (96.1%), 5th in Total Kills Per Match (3.25), 5th in Costado Rate (21.7%)

  • Alex: 8th in Total Catch Rate (95.8%), 3rd in Total Kills Per Match (3.59), T-4th in Aces (15)

  • Etcheberry: 13th in Total Catch Rate (93.7%), 2nd lowest Forehand Rate (22.8%), 6th in Total Kills (66)

Devils Getting Away With Murder With His Rank

Benetrix is a unique case among Frontcourters. His skill set was largely unknown, and his selection as a 4th ranked player by the Devils for the Fall 2025 season was built on speculation. That decision may end up defining the Devils’ pursuit of their first Battle Court Championship.

Benetrix ranked 2nd in Total Catch Rate (97.4%), 1st in Total Kills (97), and 6th in Total Kill Rate (46.2).

While he used the Costado at the 4th lowest rate among Frontcourters (12.1%), he was aggressive when on the Costado, posting the 6th highest Costado Shot Rate and 2nd highest of players with > 50 Costados (73.2%).

In Fall 2025, Benetrix played in (and dominated) 3rd and 5th division doubles, finishing with an astounding 19-6 doubles record. A guy with his talent playing as a 4th ranked player gives the Devils the most lineup flexibility in the league. That flexibility matters. To me, that’s why they’re one of the 2 favorites to win the Spring 2026 title.

In the upcoming Spring 2026 season, he will be playing in 2nd and 3rd division doubles, which should give us a better idea of just how good Benetrix really is.

Great, But Not Good Enough Shot Makers

These 3 guys all play a similar style: great catching, powerful forehands, and conservative shot selection. They are great frontcourt options and have all proven the ability to dominate lower divisions and play a key part on a championship-caliber roster. But they have yet to demonstrate the shot-making ability to carry a team as the highest ranked frontcourter.

  • Goenaga: 10th in Total Catch Rate (95.5%), T-8th in Total Kills Per Match (3.05), 6th in Costado Rate (21.4%), 17th in Costado Shot Rate (42.4%)

  • Laloo: 12th in Total Catch Rate (94.2%), 14th in Costado Shot Rate (49.6%), T-8th in Total Kills Per Match (3.05)

  • Jairo: 4th in Total Catch Rate (97.2%), 1st in Forehand Rate (61.4%), 3rd lowest Costado Rate (10.4%), 13th in Total Kills Per Match (2.41)

Right Where They Belong

Bueno and Robin are truly right where they belong. They are solid options for lower division teams and give you a clear advantage among the 4th-6th ranked players. While both have shown they can catch reliably and throw shots at the right time, their game is not ready to be elevated to more competitive divisions.

  • Bueno: 11th in Total Catch Rate (95.3%), 5th in Forehand Rate (48.4%), 17th in Total Kills Per Match (0.75)

  • Robin: 14th in Total Catch Rate (93.6%), 3rd in Costado Rate (22.5%), 5th in Costado Shot Rate (68.8%)

Room For Improvement, But They Lowkey Kill The Point

CRB and Correa have spent the last few seasons as 5th and 6th ranked players. There’s plenty to clean up. But they are more efficient finishers than you might expect.

  • CRB: 16th in Total Catch Rate (92.3%), 2nd in Costado Rate (22.6%), 2nd in Costado Shot Rate (80.4%), 7th in Total Kills Per Match (3.10)

  • Correa: 17th in Total Catch Rate (91.0%), 2nd in Forehand Rate (59.2%), 12th in Total Kills (38), 11th in Total Kill Rate (41.8%)

Room For Improvement

Jeden is the outlier here, and it’s not the kind you want. He will need to show significant improvement to avoid being left off a Battle Court roster. In Fall 2025 among Frontcourters, he finished last in Total Catch Rate (87.1%), with the lowest marks in both Forehand and Backhand Catch Rate. He had the 2nd lowest Total Kills Per Match (1.17) and the highest Out Of Play Rate (5.25%).

That’s the frontcourt landscape entering Spring 2026. A couple things to look out for this season: second and third season guys with a chance to elevate their play and the court change forcing small adjustments that show up fast. A few guys will look like they leveled up. Others will look the same, just with fewer free points.
